eBay 4th gear lock-up kit??

I bought this off eBay to control the 4th gear lock-up for my carb set-up with700r4 and I just want to understand how this works.

No instructions, the seller just sent this picture and said to attach the wire to a 12 volt keyed source

Anyone that might be familiar with what this white thingy actually does when I attach it to a keyed source and the positive on the solenoid?

Is it just a pass through? It has a rubber grommet on it so I'm assuming it goes somewhere where it would seal against something.

I don't like hooking stuff up w/o knowing it's actual function, I know some lock-up kits work off a vacuum switch, not the case here.

There's a sticky in the carb board regarding lockup on the 700r4, lots of good info:

I will probably doing this kit myself in the near future since it is relatively inexpesive and will do what I need while I'm saving for the genIV swap

Re: eBay 4th gear lock-up kit??

It's different than mine, but I believe what happes is that the white piece goes in the friver side of tranny where the stock 4 prong connector is. The the wire goes to a switch (not a keyed source - as it looks like if it were a direct connection, your TC would be locked whenever the car is turned on). When you turn on the switch, the power is sent to the 4th gear solenoid to make it it lock up.

Mine is backwards I think - as my switch connects the ground for the circuit, since my vacuum switch also makes a ground connection when the vacuum reaches right level. (sounds like YOUR switch will connect the power side for the circuit).

But - I'm guessing here!
