I replaced the tv cable a few days ago because the old one was stretched and kinked. Getting to the point, after replacing the cable I drove the car, tested it out and everything seemed fine and there were no leaks. yesterday, how ever, i wanted to adjust the cable to get it to shift better and all of a sudden I had a massive leak from the tranny around where the tv cable bolts in. I went down there today to check everything out and retighten the tv cable bolt, cleaned everything up and once again it was leak free. Went to the store to get more tranny fluid, came back and it was still dry under the car and tranny, proceeded to refill the tranny and bam, massive leak again from the same spot. I dont really understand what is causing it and i am afraid to drive it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you replace the o-ring/seal? Maybe nicked it and when the fluid level was low it stopped leaking. After you filled it back up the fluid was above the seal it started leaking again.
Hmm, I did not even see an o-ring when i put the new tv cable in. What I dont really understand though is why it didnt leak after i replaced the cable and drove it but the next day when i went to re adjust the cable at the throttle body, that is when it began leaking. If it is the o-ring, can i use an rtv gasket maker instead ?

No RTV would be a no no on that.. the seal is a small sleeve with a lip at the top similar to the dipstick seal. when you get a new one you need to make sure you got all the pieces of the old one out.. typically when they get broken installing a tv cable it shoves the sleeve down the shaft and it can cause your tv valve to get in a bind or stuck. it may be needed to remove the pan to make sure its right. good luck...
