I saw this in the tech articles section ad was wondering what is the point of locking your torque converter? also what tranny is that article ment for? how can i do that to my 4l60e? if so where do i hook it up at?

what year and make car do you have?
the 4l60 should lock up by itself, so long as it is in the correct vehicle application with all the computer stuff hooked up.

I just did this mod to my car the other day and I love it.
all cars have a function on there torque converter that will physically lock the 2 halves of the converter together in 3rd or 4th gear. Doing this saves about 2-300 rpm, saving gas.
I think this article was posted for people like me, that have completley disabled there computer and still want there converter lock up function.

i dont have a third gen but i do have a 97 gmc jimmy, and thats what i wanted to know if this would work on.

Don't even start to mess with it on your '97. What you definately need to do is get a TransGo Shift Kit installed as you do/will have bore wear which will lead to code 1870 and I have even heard of complete meltdowns (I mean the whole vehicle) from tranny fluid fires.

your 97 jimmy already had a lock up, unless your have done mods to throw off the computer/tranny/engine, it should still be working.
