Looking for 3.08 89' and Up

Does anyone have, or know where I can find a 3.08 or a 3.23 rear end? I have been trying to find one for about 2 weeks and have had no luck. I am looking for a posi w/ disc brakes, but would consider an open differential if I find that first. My main concern is low mileage and close proximity, so I can pick it up as shipping is outrageous on something so large and heavy. I live in South/Eastern PA. If I’m not mistaken, I need a 1989 or newer to ensure I get 28 spline axles. I don’t want to spend more than about $150 to $250 depending on mileage.

Also, can someone please explain what a wonderbar is?

Did you check the classifieds? On this board or in your local paper? Hemmings Motor News?

In 1957, a "Wonderbar" was a radio with a "bar" on it - push the bar, and the radio would automatically tune to the next available radio station on the dial. In 1957, that was a "wonder".

For our rides, a "Wonderbar" is a piece that fits on the front of the frame between the sway bar mounts. It helps spread the load from the steering gear to both sides of the frame and reduces the stress on the driver's side frame rail - reducing the chance of cracking the frame. Also stiffens the frame for firmer, more precise control. Makes you "wonder" why the factory didn't put that "bar" on all the 3rd gens they made.

Five7,
I love your definition of a wonderbar! Acurate, to the point, and funny! LOL

I should think that an open 3.08 wouldn't be all that difficult to find! Is there a particlar reason to stay away from posi? I just did the posi/disc swap, and it was easy. The main detail there, is to change the metering valve (for drum) to the proportioning valve (for disc). I used an OE prop valve from my donor car. Everything else bolts right up, brake cables, brake line, etc.....

Starting to look like the Kicker poster child!

I forgot to add that it is not to be confused with a "WonderBra"...
