700R4 Shifting issues

1990 Camaro iroc-z 5.7L, stock

A couple weeks back i had a shifting issue where it would only shift high RPM and not shift into 3rd or 4th, so I looked online and found it was the TV cable, adjusted it, and everything was good.

Just now a day or 2 ago, it would shift just fine, if i was babying it it would shift 2.5k 1-2, but then at about 3.5-4k it would suddenly downshift to 1st and just hang up at 5k. it would not shift at all to 3rd even if i went all the way to 7k rpm. the only way to get it to hold in 2nd gear over 3.5k rpm is to have the shifter in the 2nd gear spot.

Any suggestions? is it possible that my TV cable might be damaged? I noticed a slight bend near the throttle body but it doesn't look very serious at all.

Re: 700R4 Shifting issues

I did a bit of research, and perhaps it's the 3-4 clutch burned out? I'd think so because the engine seems to race just at the 2-3 shift point, just like a few websites say as a common problem.
