flexplate ?s need help asap

im in the process of finding parts to build my 3rd 3rd gen it an 88 bird with a th400 trans im putting a 305 from another bird in it (because i already have it here and its free) i need some info on what flexplate im going to need mine wont work its a 5 speed any info would be very helpful thanks guys i put a starter in the manual and it has the small teeth as in my dad had a new starter for his chevy van and it didnt work if that helps im fairly mechanically inclined just not very knowlegable on what works and what does not once i get the motor out im sure i can get it from there but it would be really nice to have the parts i need waiting for me to install the motor in the new car its got reverse shift b&m quick silver shifter and a spooled 3.73 rear

Re: flexplate ?s need help asap

Flex plate will depend on the engine, I believe. The dampners are different, so the plates should be as well. I think the 1 piece rear main block engines have a different plate than the older 2 piece rear main engines. What block are you using?
