'82 z28 4spd problem, shift linkage??

Earlier today after a hard rip thru 1st, 2nd, & 3rd i went to shift into 4th and it felt like the shifter was disconnected from the tranny.

I can get the car into reverse, 1st and 3rd no problem, but 2nd and 4th are very hard to shift into, and the shifter feels "rubbery" is the best way to describe it.

im pretty sure its the shift linkage, but I just wanted to see what the opinions of some of the experts on here think.

also, I have been searching for a linkage and cant seem to find one, can this be repaired? what do I have to replace?

Thanks

check to see if the bolts that hold the shifter to the trans have come loose or are gone altogether. A loose shifter will cause what you are describing
