zf 6 speed

I have found a zf 6 speed fron a 93 vette from the bell houseing back. Will this fit in a thirden. I think it is the same as the one used in the firehawk; right? Are they as good as the t56? Any info would be great! Thanks in advance!

Re: zf 6 speed

There was a post on here a while back discussing the installation of a ZF6 in a 3rd gen, and it requires major surgery IIRC. The LT-1 style T56, on the other hand, is damn near a direct bolt-in, other than needing a custom crossmember.

Yea, you'll need a special bellhousing and major surgery to the tranny tunnel. The T56 is easier to install, stronger and parts are cheaper.

Yeah, from what I remember reading in that old post, installing a ZF6 in a 3rd gen is definitely not a job for the faint of heart!
