So I'm thinking about swapping in a T5, I want to get the T56 but can't afford it(college), i want to just get a manual now as i put a shift kit in the 700 and after 4k miles the case is cracked so is the driveshaft the same length for the 700 and the t5, i know its the same for the t56 just never saw any info about this for the t5. About how much does it cost to do the t5 swap, i know a junkyard that has thirdgens with manuals but i'm pretty sure there 4 speeds, but the pedals i would assume should be the same.

3rd gen manual/auto dr shafts are the same on V8 models....

I picked up the pedals, master and resivoir, and shifter cover today. Unfortunately the car was a 2.8 5 speed, i was gonna buy the transmission crossmember but wasn't sure if it would work with the v8 trans.

BTW i saw that this jy just got a 85 Z28 in and it has a TPI engine in it, i asked him if i could buy the whole car but he didn't want to sell it, said he would sell the complete engine for 200 and its supposed to run good...

The trans crosmember from your 700R4 will work with the T-5 also.
