im debating weather or not to get a poly tranny mount... ive heard that it causes some issues... what kind of issues are there with this.... i have a probuilt 700r4 thats shifts really hard when you give it alot of gas and i have a freshly built hotcammed 355tpi and i dont think the stock rubber will hold up..... what are the pros and cons of using a poly mount... thanks in advance...
A poly trans mount will bring out any vibrations you have in your driveline, but a well running car shouldnt have any vibrations. so i see no downside, and i have one installed.
me three. Also, the poly version has an internal steel interlock, it can't separate like the stock rubber ones always do. While you're at it, do the poly torque arm bushing. It's a bit of hassle, but I'm glad I did mine.
I used the stock mount on my GTA but I strapped with two long hose clamps I got at Home Depot. Just wrapped them around the mount. It works like a normal mount except the two straps keep it from breaking. Same idea as a hold down chain protecting a rubber motor mount. Works great. Cost maybe 3 bucks.
