Re: Rear End ?

If you don't mind the rear wheels sticking out an extra 1.5 inches on each side, the cheapest easiest way to get this is a 4th gen rear from a 1998+ F-body - nice big LS1 disc brakes and 3.42 posi's are easy finds for about $250, and a direct bolt in (just have to do some rigging on the e-brake cable).

Following is general info about 10-bolts and all that you need to accomplish a swap, to include master, proportioning valve and e-brake cable.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tr...-10-bolts.html (FAQ About 10-Bolts)

BTW, Camaronewbie, Ed Miller now has custom cables for the LS1 swap:

Here's a link to T-5 speedo gears and a how-to for install:

Check the last link I provide. BTW, you'll need to swap both drive and driven gears.

It would have been better to start your thread. Or even better, do a search since this has been covered. Like maybe in the 4th gen axle swap threads?

Anyways....You can cut both & splice your 3rd gen cable to the 4the gen cable, or buy one specifically made that way. I don't recal who. but I know at least one of the TGO sponsors has them.

Personally, I'd purchase the correct cable. Check the first link I provide for the info you need.

Oops, 91, my bad. Check to see if you have the tunnel-mounted adjuster. If so, you need the first design. If there is no tunnel-mounted adjuster, you need the second design. Check post #4 of the following link for a pic and info:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/br...r-e-brake.html (LT1 rear, e-brake question)
