Anybody using Hurst shifter on T-5? How do you like it? How does it shift 2nd to 3rd, etc. Thanks Leo

Re: B&M vrs. Hurst

I have a Hurst in my '97 T56, and the shifter is biased towards 3rd/4th... basically, when you put it in neutral, 3rd is straight up and 4th is straight down - the shifter kinda self-aligns to those two gates. If you're in 2nd, all you have to do really is just push forward, and it will slide to the right and line up with 3rd basically by itself, you don't have to hunt for 3rd.

Re: B&M vrs. Hurst

Funny you should ask about a hurst T5 shifter. I upgraded to a T56 (with a hurst) and sold my T5 setup to schultzy here on the boards. We had dinner a couple of nights ago and as it invaribly will the subject turned to cars. He said he has hads B&M and a Pro 5.0 shifters and neither of them compared to the hurst I sold him. He is a believer and so am I. Best rail shifters I've ever used, not to mention back in the "day" hurst shifters were the gold standard. I must have owned over 20 of themn and have NEVER been disapointed in any of them.

Re: B&M vrs. Hurst

Yeah I am from the era when HURST ruled.Had a couple years ago on 4 speeds, and you could Bang tru the gears at 6-grand,no problem.I didn't, think I was too Old yet,but I CAN"T do it with this B&M T-5 setup.I should do like you and update to T56, because I run Vortec350 front of my T-5 anyway. Thanks Adam and alloy for imfo. I think I am going to do some switching on car this winter. Leo
