B&M converter lock-up

Just installed the B&M Converter lock-up on my 86 Z. I have a few questions. 1st what speed is a good one to set the lock-up at? and 2nd my transmission is still acting weird. It is shifting at 2600-2800 rpms no matter how hard or soft I mash the throttle. It will not kick down either???? I have a idea that the TV cable is not adjusted right, what do you guys think????

Re: B&M converter lock-up

I can't advise on your second question, but try to get it to lock up at the lowest speed where it doesn't surge as you cruise along. Depending on your cam, gearing and so on, you may be able to lock it up as low as 25 mph. This would be with a 3.73:1 gear, of course. With a stock 350, and 3.08:1 gearing, 30 mph and 830 rpm isn't out of the question.

Re: B&M converter lock-up

35-40 mph sounds reasonable to me for that combo.
