Looking for aftermarket T5 shifter...suggestions?

Hey Gang...

I have an 84 z28 with a 420hp 355ci and T5 trans. I have read that the factory shifters weren't all that great, and that it would be a good idea to put in an aftermarket one.

Anyone have any good luck with any particular make/models?

Thanks!
Ty

I gotta B&M Sport shifter with about 3500miles of use. Like brand new...$130 shipped...

Its a night and day difference in the throw and just general feel. Its amazing.

Re: Looking for aftermarket T5 shifter...suggestions?

I was wondering who has used this shifter and if so how were the results of it?

Re: Looking for aftermarket T5 shifter...suggestions?

Actually, I never had a stock shifter in mine. It had an aftermarket when I bought it. I got in somebody else's with a stock one once and moved it from first to second and just told him "no. too sloppy" http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-45052/ This is like the one I have but mine is for the T5. I chopped it down a little and welded a smaller bolt on the end to accept a Hurst shifter knob.

Re: Looking for aftermarket T5 shifter...suggestions?

I have a Pro 5.0 shifter with the UMI short stick and am very happy. The Pro 5.0 also has adjustable stops, so you don't have to worry about trashing your trans if you shift like an ape. I had the B&M Ripper shifter and it was ok, but what I have now is much better.

Re: Looking for aftermarket T5 shifter...suggestions?

+1 for the Pro 5.0 shifter. I swapped mine for one a few months back and wished I would have done it sooner.
