I have an 88 350 block(1 piece rear main seal) and am just now going to start installing everything for my T5 swap. I already purchased the pilot roller bearing. Was this the correct one or did I need the bushing?? Also I have searched for this answer and was confused at what I found still. What side of the bearing faces the transmission?? Thanks again for all the help.

You can use either. I like the roller.
the side that faces the trans will have a bit of a bevel to it and cover the roller a bit.. be careful putn together because you can push the roller out of its housing an into the back of the crank..
