60MPH @4,000 RPM in Fifth Gear?
I bought this 84 T/A from a guy who claimed the PO was trying to turn it into a race car.
The car goes sixty at 4K in fifth gear which feels wrong. At every gear, it just feels terrible to drive. I know my 700R4 would do sixty at about 2,000 RPM. This car would need 50" tires to do the same!
Does this sound like a trans or rear-end problem? I'm thinking it's the transmission because the speedo appears to give an accurate reading. If he did something to the rear end instead, I think the speedo would read about double.
