450 hp with 700r4
Will my 700r4 with transgo 2&3 kit, reverse manual valve body and corvette servo be able to hold up to the 383 I'm building? It will be mostly street driven so not too much pressure on the trans

Yah, it'll hold, but not long
What do you have for a converter?
I have a built 700r4 with better everything (sunshell, shift kit, corvette servo, better clutches)
It held for 3 seasons of street/strip, although I was spraying it too.
The problem I had was that the 700r4 was twice as much money to rebuild as a th350, and the th350 could be built for less to hold more power.

So basically I can get a stronger th350 for less overall cost? And will that work with a reverse full manual valve body? I'm set on the ratchet shifter (can't afford a 5-speed swap) and the converter is my next question, I don't know anything about them, what do you thik would be a good stall to get? And keep in mind that this is a street build, mostly low end torque with a powerband starting between idle&1000rpm and ending 5000-5500rpm and a 3.42 posi to go with it, I want something that can handle 450hp as more of a safety net, but I'm building it more as a low end torque car with a few days at the track a year

I've been on that website, the problem is that I won't have that much money for those kits, I'm not worried about gas so no overdrive isn't a problem

Just make sure you factor in all the costs for the th350 swap vs the 700r4 rebuild.

I had a 700r4 that needed a rebuild. It was going to cost $1600!! and I could still drive the car! It still had all the gears it was just slipping from 2-3.
I bought a core th350, bought a th350/700r4 swap torque arm, rebuilt it with a full manual and bought a converter all for under a $1000.
I used the stock driveshaft, the only con to the swap is that I dont have a speedometer.

I think I might just stick with the 700r4, I guess it would be worth the money in the end, would a 5-speed swap cost less?
