T56 Hard in gear, Grinding second
Hey guys. About three months ago I swapped My T5 out for a T56 in my 1991 Camaro RS. It was amazing. The few times I took it out to the strip it shifted great, never missed a beat. but about a month ago I started having trouble getting in to second, and then first, and now? all my gears feel gated. only first and second are real tough though.=
when I'm sitting still I can barely get it in to either. and when I'm shifting at high RPMs I grind in to second. I jacked the rear of the car up, Put the clutch to the floor, put it in first, and revved up to about 4k and it didn't move. It does spin clutch out, in neutral (Not sure if that means anything)
When I swapped transmissions I got a brand new Clutch, Pressure plate, Flywheel, GM prebled hydraulics, Throw out Bearing, pilot bearing, Spohn Cross member, Poly trans mount, and Brand new Dex 3 fluid. I'm on the original fork, and Shifter. I'm also using Thirdgen Pedals.
I didn't knock on it dailly but I got on it about once a week (Sunday Funday!) I haven't tried re-bleeding the hydros, I haven't taken it out to check Pressure plate torque, I haven't checked Fork installation, and I haven't checked to make sure Slave doesn't slowly move when held. I have checked fluid level, and clutch disengagement. any clues?

Re: T56 Hard in gear, Grinding second
If the car goes through the gears fine when the engine is turned off, I would say the clutch is not releasing, all of the way. I just started have hard shifting issues on mine and it first showed up from first to second. After I did my swap when I would push the pedal all the way down the clutch fork would hit the pressure plate bolts, when I took the car in to get a little hole in the exhaust welded the mechanic pushed the pedal all the way down like I told him not to and I think my release fork is now bent or broken, it is not properly disengaging and the car is not drive-able until I can pull the trans again to really see whats up.

Are you running 3rd or 4th gen hydraulics?

Unfortunately, I have not pulled the trans yet as I do not have the "toy" funds right now, I could not get your pictures to open ... not sure what you mean by "shaving my clutch down," does not sound good ... I used 4th gen hydraulics and third gen pedals. My idea is to weld a stopper to the bottom of the pedal to stop this from happening in the future, but I have not done anything yet because I want to pull it apart first

The bore sizes are different on the slave cylinder if I remember correctly. the 3rd gen pedals have a longer throw than the 4th gen so using the 4th gen hydraulics will cause to much travel on the clutch fork. Many people including myself have used a slave cylinder from an 88 cavalier to alleviate this problem. But I'm not sure if that is the problem you are having or not.
