t56 upshifting problem!

t56 upshifting problem!
Hello Everyone,
I have a 1987 GTA 305TPI T5 car. Last year i swapping in a t56 with the help of my buddy. The car has ran and shifted fine for almost a year now. This summer I decided to swap in a rear end I had out of another TA I had before. The other TA was a 1986 TA that I built the rear end for, the rear end had a Detroit tru track posi unit with richmond 3:73 gears in it. Both rear ends are 10 bolts.
Now back to my problem with the 87, now that I switched rear ends the t56 does not like upshifting. When im upshifting its like it "grinds" gears before dropping into gear. You can feel it in the shifter like its hitting something then drops into gear. It does it in every gear upshifting but seems to stop or lessen once the car warms up by driving.
Why im calling it a problem on upshifting is because it has NO problem at all down shifting. I've been racking my brain looking online for someone else who had a similar problem. When we did the swap we used 4th gen set up all the way around (pedals,master) and like I said had no problems until this rear end was swapped. If the rear end swap a coincidence or could it have affected the trans someway?
