stock left/right axles the same?
hey all,
so i was putting the rear end back together on a 91 camaro i have....i had both axle shafts out and know that the left and right side are the same length and what not.....BUT it seems like the right axle is sticking slightly farther out than the left when looking at the car on the ground...it's for sure noticeable.
Someone told me that the left versus right axle have different thickness on the wheel flange (the part that the wheel studs go into). Is this true or is this person blowing a bunch of smoke? The car is lowered with a stock panhard bar and should be pushing the left side out just a little bit more than the right.....but for sure has right side out more.....probably something like 3 or 4 mm. Ive never noticed it before and noticed this right away. any thoughts?

10 bolt axles are exactly the same length. There is no right and left. The problem you are having is something to do with the bar that locates the rear end under the car. May be bent or maybe the bushings are worn out. You can get an adjustable bar.
