pressure plate ?

Well my ill thought out clutch linkage caused me to over extend my new McLeod super street pro pressure plate. Probably pushed the pedal 30 to 40 times trying to figure out what was going on. I gave it back out now and everything looks good. But I don't want to put it back in if there is a chance that it is not good to go. Will over travel destroy a new pressure plate that quickly? AND would there be damage that is visible to the eye? Thanks guys.

Re: pressure plate ?

Have a brake and clutch place that rebuilds for trucks take a look and possibly disassemble to inspect.

Or, send to McLeod. Call them and ask what to look for, too.

Re: pressure plate ?

A good friend of mine, his dad works for Mcleod. I took it over there and he said it should be ok. He didn't see anything that made him worry about anything. I hope he is right because its already back in the car. Seems like it is ok. I will know when I put some power to it I guess.

Barring any more dumbass attacks by me I should have it ready to fire by next sunday. Thanks Jmd. I would still be scratching my head without your help.

Re: pressure plate ?

Yes the Hyatt family are very good people. That's the whole reason I went with a McLeod to begin with.

Re: pressure plate ?

Well we fired the car last night. It took it for a short drive today and the clutch seems fine. I got lucky.
