rearend rebuild
Where can I get a complete rebuild kit for my 9 bolt 3.27 rear? I have been looking around and so far all I have seen is just the rung and the pinion. Or does somebody have links to all the parts I need and where I can get them?

Re: rearend rebuild
But what all would I need? I'm not going to be rebuilding it myself but I'm trying to get all the parts for it.
Also my car is currently driving it just has a lot of backlash when putting it in gear and if I floor it you can feel it thinking around under the car. Would this necessitate a full rebuild or could it just be something else that needs replacing?

Re: rearend rebuild
The Borg Warner differential in that rear end is the cone type. As they wear they get more slop in them. They can be reconditioned. There are threads on here that cover this and I'd recommend doing it.
A good installation kit will have all of the bearings except the axle bearings. It will also have shims, bolts, pinion seal, pinion nut and any other small parts needed for the job. You can get the axle bearings local or order them with the kit. I don't know how much stuff you need to fix the problems you have. I'm guessing that the gears are still good.

Re: rearend rebuild
So its all a matter of tearing into it then huh?

Re: rearend rebuild
I would recommend checking the backlash and contact pattern before tearing it down. Take pictures of the contact pattern and save them for the assembly so you have an idea of what to shoot for. You need to remove the axles before checking the backlash.
If you are going to install new gears then none of this matters.

Here is one good write up, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...now-about.html There is a good blog with pictures, but you can't read the steps do to the background. http://mpikas.blogspot.com/2008/03/r...rner-cone.html

Re: rearend rebuild
The part # you posted if memory serves, is the casting # of the housing. Not related to ratio in any way.
Not sure what you're asking about "gearing". If your gears have a 3.45 ratio, as you posted, then your "gearing" is .... 3.45. Whatever you saw when you took the cover off and inspected it before you bought it, that's what it is.
