Gear vendors under/overdrive?

Just wondering how hard it is to install, Can it be used in a third gen? Im installing a turbo400 over the winter and I know im not going to be happy on the highway with a 3 speed.

The T400 is no problem as long as you don't use a trans shield If you want, you can stop by and look at my install. The GV is a nice piece, but you are probably better off going with a 4L60 or something.

Miles

PS with 3.42's, it won't be as bad as you think.

Thanks Miles, What did you have to do about the tourqe arm? I would go with a newer 4 speed but I picked up this 400 for cheap and its been well built. Do you know what I need to do for a drive shaft with just the 400 in there? Thanks again-Chris

It also came with a 2200rpm stall converter.

Chris,

I used the T400 adapter kit by Hurst. (B&M also makes one) It was ~$125 from Jegs.

For the drive shaft, I had an old shaft from a Chevelle that I had cut and balanced (~$90). Spicer makes an adapter u-joint for the rear. You can also have places like Clutch & U-joint (it's actually called something else now) make you a complete shaft or also www.dennysdriveshaft.com has good pieces.

I have the exact length somewhere, but I would install the tranny, then measure just to be safe. I will look for the length this weekend if you really want it.

Miles
