Hurst V-Matic 2

I just talked to a Hurst tech. and he told me that the V-Matic 2 (part # 383-8521) is a direct bolt in and no console modifications, for my 92 Camaro RS. Does anyone have this shifter, or can anyone confirm this. I presently have the B&M Megashifter, and am unhappy with it.

I don't have one, but I think the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. How is this supposed to fit in the console with no modifications?

Well first of all the black bottom console is removable, then there's a assembly at the bottom so you can mount it. It's 6 inch from the bottow the the rubber boot ... The rubber Boot.

Even still, you're going to have to do something with the top of the console.

I can't see it being a no mod affair either. It has to be similar to the way your megashifter is.

What don't you like about your megashifter? I have one and have overcome a few quirks with it, maybe I can help? Overall I like it alot.

Well about the MegaShifter, I was told that the cable that comes with it was pure garbage also that the chrome was pelling of the handle, also that the t-handle was bolted with a set screw and that the gear indicator got broken many cases ... Also the rubber booth doesn't support Armor all ...

I haven't tried it myself I can't tell you if it's that bad, I got a friend who has one but is car is still sitting in the drive way because he has some major engine problems in is bird...

I decided to get the hurst because it looked about the same and also because the t-handle was drilled and bolted directly to the shifter shaft. Hurst isn't a bad company, I'm going to try it. I received it, it looks good it looks exactly the right dimensions.
