Car: 1988 Camaro SC Engine: 355 Chevy Transmission: 700 Axle/Gears: 3.73 | Do you really think you need lockup in the quarter mile? Seems a little foolish to me. You only need lockup on the highway to save gas. It was never meant to be used for more speed.
I hear what your saying, when lockup is applied its a one to one ratio with the engine and transmission so the possibility for more speed is there (theoreticly).
This was only meant to be used to lower the rpm by a few hundred and to keep the converter and tranny cooler. Besides, when the computer senses you nailing it shuts it off.
