Speedo Gear Reduction Gizmo

I read once in a PHP mag a while back about a reduction gear that reduces the reading on 85 mph speedos by a half.

You just double the reading for true speed and you have a 170 mph speedo

I can't find the mag now and was interested in this item. Anyone heard of this ? What impact would this have on your odometer, would miles roll at half speed ?

Don

Gee Johnny that sounds pretty cool. Cept my v6 won't get that high, I'd love to get one though, and just make a custom plate to put over it. Does this only apply to cable driven speedos though? Or does it work with electronic ones that I have. Tell me more

Long, long ago, there used to be a thread on this exact subject, and it contained a link to the company that made the gear reduction hardware. I couldn't find it during my search- I could only find this post.

Does anyone have that thread or link saved on their computer???
