would i need to get a different tailshaft for it
Yes. Trucks usually have a bolt on tailshaft yoke. You'll need a slip yoke for a TH400. The shaft diameter is larger so 700R4, TH350 etc yokes won't fit. Since the tranny is longer, you'll need a custom made driveshaft as well.
and what about the speedo drive cable
If yours is cable drive then you just screw your cable onto it. You may need an adaptor to get the right gearing so your speedo is accurate.
i know i would also have to get the torque arm mounting kit from jegs..............
The kit includes a mount for the torque arm, new cross member (TH400 sits back farther), detend switch etc.
