Stuck TV valve ?

87 Z28 700R4 auto trans. The problem is starting out, I have to get the rpms up to about 3500 before it will shift out of 1st. Shifting into 2nd at about 3000 after that it shiifts ok. On a previous posting, someone said the TV valve maybe stuck. How do you clean / unstick TV valve.

In my opinion, the only way to reliably keep the valve free is to use the TransGo Shift Kit/Reprogramming Kit which includes a new,redesigned self cleaning valve. It will also fix many other weak opints in this unit.

Are you talking a TransGo Model # TRG-700? It is around $130.00 from Summit? How hard is this to install?
