t5 to th350 tranny swap - Transmissions and Drivetrain - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I currently have a t5 trans and plan on putting in a zz4 crate engine. I know the t5 will not hold up to the torque and finding a t56 cheap is near impossible. I know a th350 will hold up to alot of pressure and abuse. what would it take to do the swap from t5 to th350. all parts needed and fabrication. thanks for any help.

b&m p/n 30299 will take care of all your problems, you need the longer tail shaft th350 or you'll need to have DS length changed

would it actually be easier to go from a t5 to a tremec 3550 since I already have a 5 speed. would the bellhousing and everything just bolt right up as a bolt in replacement or would everything have to change. thanks for the help.

The Tremec is a direct bolt on so definitely go with the Tremec if you like rowing your own boat. Cheaper that the Richmond too!

Where could I find some topics or sites with some very good info on this subject. I did some searches and nothing really talks about the gm tremec, but rather the mustang tremec. thanks

i look that up it and it says from th-200 or th-700 to th-350, not a t-5, or is the t-5 the same as the th-200 and th-700?
