Exhaust arrived!

Ok, the exhaust came in..I'm happy. Now to find someone with a car that can hold that huge package... Question..I know this is something I shouldn't even have to ask, but I want to absolutely positively know this in case. The package has slapped ALL over it 82-90 Camaro/Firebird. Is there a difference in 91 and 92? I ask because I have a 91. I figure they've all got to be the same, but ya never know.

I'm assuming you got the dynomax kit?? If so, it physically fits fine. Before you even jack your car up, make sure the flange that bolts to the cat is on properly, I didnt know mine was backwards tell after it was in the car, clamped and bolted up. All-be-damn if was gonna undo all that crap again.

So that's why you didn't send it back!! I was wondering about that. How was it to weld in that tight of a spot?

Yes, I got the Dynomax Super Turbo. (Score!) Can't wait to slap her on...it's only a matter of time now. You seen the tips on this catback though? They just cut the two muffler exit pipes at the ends...SOOO UGLY. I'm thinking the Edelbrock 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 intercooled tips...

I didn't mind it too much, lets us choose our own tips. But here's a tip regarding those slash-cut tips... they've been formed into ovals! That means if you buy a bolt-on 2.5" tip, they won't slide over the angle cut slash's. You'll need to cut the tailpipes to remove the angle-cut slash, so you have two pipes pointing straight back- THOSE will be a true 2.5" diameter.

If you're not getting tips right away, don't do what I did with the exhaust. I didn't have tips yet, so I angled the tailpipes "up" behind the bumper, so the slash cuts were hanging a little lower than the bumper. So basically the tailpipes weren't horizontally parallel to the road, they were angled up.

So you could imagine how pissed I was at myself when I cut the slashes off, and realized that the tailpipes took a set in the muffler. The tailpipes were pointed right at the back of my bumper, angled upward, and made it impossible to put a tip on them. I cursed like crazy, had to loosen the clamps, and use a screwdriver and BFH to get the tailpipes to swing down so they were level again.

Yeah, I'm just going to hold off with getting the exhaust put on until the tips come in. That's what I'm doing, just having it cut straight across right above the tips.
