EFI Swap on Carberated V6

I have a 84 Firebird, 2.8L V6 carberated. I wish to install the EFI system from a
1987ish firebird, is there ANY faqs or howtos out there
that can help me do this? I ONLY keep finding info to do the other way around,
convert from EFI to Carb.

I havn't found any tutorial or anything. Most people won't do it because of the computer. In order to do it you have to install the computer and wire harness for the efi engine. You also need to install a high pressure fuel pump.

Not really worth it,

I would stick with the carb, for more power maybe put a holley on it

Well, I would put a better carb on except for two things.
One, it's as expencive to put on the holley and new intake
makifold as it is to put on EFI. And two I live in california,
where smog is so tough, noone makes 4bbl intake
manifolds for the V6 60 degree engine.

Thanks anyways then folks. I'll have to find a donor car
and make my own howto

Edelbrock does make a manifold for the V6, BUT it is
not smog compattible...making it useless to anyone in california.
Or anyplace requiring EGR.

Want the reality facts & the cold cash put out details?
Here's the deal.
I've done only smog legal swaps for CA purposes.
WHEN I TAKE MY S-10 BLAZER & CONVERT IT TO MPFI IT WILL COST ME CLOSE TO $300 FOR THE SMOG CERTIFICATE FOR SMOG INSPECTION FROM THE CA SMOG REF's.
$300 for them to tell me I did the job right.
ON TOP OF THAT, yeah ya do have a wiring issure.
Want the realistic solution?
Dump your ride.
Go find a 3rd gen MPFI or ?
& enjoy.
IT AIN'T WORTH THE DOLLARS & SENSE to make it so.
NOW me with my Blazer?
My call, but I may put myself thru it one day. I know how I have the diagrams from Turbo City in Anaheim CA.
The source is a 1990 issue of Sport Truck and it is done to a Blazer (carb to MPFI)
YES you gain SO MUCH for a intial cost of parts, effort + $300! to start.
Do the math.
Reality.
I've checked with two smog guys so far.
That's why I've done what I've done to my Firebird (sneaky smog legal 3.4 conversion)
and what I'm doing to my Blazer (3.4 carb'd set up).
Hope to set your record & battle plan straight.
