Shopping at Auto Zone are we?

I had that same question when I went to replace the missing alternator belt on my 83. I bought a bottle of wax, a soda and the belt. Total comes to 22 bucks. I was like WTF!!! They said the belt supposedly lasts longer. I just couldn't justify spending 17 bucks for the belt unless it came with the ASE certified mechanic to install it and give my car a once over.
