I tried looking for the F1ZE injectors on rockauto but I couldn't find them. What year of ford ranger had them? 2.9 engine right? Can anybody please link me to some? I've been looking for awhile and I'm feeling like it's a little hopeless.

I got mine off Ebay..just checked and didnt see any.Just keep checking...I got lucky and found this guy who sonic cleaned and bench flowed them.I had to reuse my stock GM o-rings on the Ford ones if I recall.Ford's are too small. They sit in the manifold a little deeper too,but doesnt cause any issues.

What are the accel injectors? I'd be happy to try the Ford injectors but given I think RS 2.8 was saying he couldn't get them to fit right, I'm not so sure.
If a change of injectors makes a difference, nozzle wise, then are there any aftermarket ones designed for Firebirds that we can use?
Mine didn't fit quite right, others have had no problem with them with the stock o-rings. I have some problem that I can't figure out. The penny mod is sticking a penny on top of the spring in the FPR and it bumps up the fuel pressure a little.
some of the ford injectors dont sit down inthe manifold fully,if u take the stock injector and some ford injectors and lay them ona tabble on the feed or nozzle side u will see the ford ones sometimes are an 1/8th in shorter
i have 42# injectors in mine and they are just a tad shorter, but i used the ford orings and they sealed up fine and dont leak
I just got the same ones that Threepointone bought. I can't wait to get them in. I just out an Accel uper Coil on it has smoothed out the car. Looking at the injectors, mine say E67E-B1B on one side and 0280150710 on the other. Does anyone know if these are 15,17,or 19 lbs. injectors? Also, in the beginning of the post, F1ZE and other numbers were mentioned. What is the difference between what I bought and F1ZE?
I wanted to add some more info to this thread..yes these injectors are shorter in length ,but I had no problems with leakage as some stated. The biggest improvement I noticed was the delay when I almost came to a stop or in a turn and hit the throttle and the car just sat there for what seemed like a few seconds and didnt respond. This injector swap cured this problem if some of you are having this symptom. It idled better as well.. you wont be disappointed.
I finally got mine to not leak. I just used the o-rings for the Ford motor, they are black and stiffer than the o-rings for our cars. They are a little iffy now but I did unhook the battery so I will give them a couple of days for the computer to retune itself.

did u use the stock retaining clips, with the clips and the ford o rings u shouldnt have any problems.
Well, mine are installed and my car now sounds like it's making popcorn. Rev's way up when it starts, then when it goes down it starts the popping. Dosent sound like anything hitting against anything... just like small backfiring noises.
What did I do wrong? Haha, I'm sure it's something I did.
figured i should throw this in, u guiys swaping injectors do not use parts cleaning solvent or brake clean to clean out the injector holes,it makes the orings swell up.

In that case then I better keep my eye on the injectors. I bought some brake parts cleaner and gave the injectors a quick shot to clean them off.
LOL, I figured it would end up having something to do with that! Thanks bro, I'm in NO way knowledgeable on automotive mechanics. The biggest thing I've ever done before this was changing my oil.

they will be fine as long as u dont pull them apart again, if they swell and u pull them out u will have a hell of a time getting them back in,best bet would be to replace them if u pull them back out again
The injectors leaked again so the 3.1 injectors are going back in. I'm not giving them another try, 4 times is enough. So if anyone wants them I have a dozen of them from the JY. Just pay shipping and they are yours. They could probably also need a rebuild.
I just got done installing my injectors that are like the ones threepointone got from ebay. The biggest thing i noticed is that the ford injectors do not go in the fuel rail as far as the stock ones. I used the retaing clips and the new o-rings that came with it. I am certain it will seal to the mainifold but I am a little concerned that they will leak at the rail. Threepoint one, since our injectors came from the same place, did you have any problems and which o-rings did you use?
I would use the 15's for a stock 2.8. Stock meaning stock cam stock unported heads. I put my injectors in the other day. No leaks and I used the new o-rings that came with the injectors already installed. Next plan is to drive it and track mileage and drivability.
i might be going to the JY if i get my paycheck for that S10 engine swap. i'm getting a new fuel rail since the return line on mine is cross threaded and i lost one of the caps that hold the o rings on. its just another part on my list.
so lets get this info together. you use the 15 lbs/hr. fuel injectors off 89-93 ranger and explorer 2.9L engines? do you put the new injectors on the stock fuel rail or does the ford rail bolt in? and just a quick question, how do you take fuel injectors off fuel rails? i know its simple i just haven't had the patience to mess w/ it. thanks.
You use your stock fuel rail and to remove them, theres a small clip that rotates to release the injector from the rail. You will see a small metal tab that you use.. say a small tip screwdriver against it to rotate it.Whatever you do dont yank on the injector until you have rotated the clip.Once you figure out the first one the rest is cake.Yes, you use the injectors off the ranger they are sometimes called the "gray tip" injectors from their gray colored coils. They are a bit shorter in length but shouldnt be a problem.I dont why your having so many issues 2.8RS?.something your clearly missing.Cant be much help..unless I was there.Once you get the rail off wouldnt hurt to check the regulator since your right there?.

Its the injectors. The regulator is pretty new and isn't leaking, my current ones don' leak. I'm just going to give up on them, tired of messing with them. They still even leaked even with new o-rings.
they have to be different ones then(injectors) ?..did you try and another Ford set?.If I remember there was a TSB on the fuel rail, but would have to research it.I do know when I was going to replace my regulator they wanted to sell me the whole rail with regulator attached.I used my original o-rings off the pingels cause the Fords were too small in diameter. No leaks ..so something is up with yours.
The Ford rings are clearly smaller visually ..I would guess your injector is not the correct ones due to the size around the upper o-ring area?If its smaller in diameter ,then sure its going to leak no matter what you try.Like I said I got mine from Mr Injector off Ebay and have no issues whatsoever...been running them for almost a year now.I would suggest you measure the diameter of the o-ring area on the ones your currently running and measure the ones your trying to use and compare the difference?
They came out of a 89? Ranger and 88? Bronco II with the 2.9L V6. Not all of the injectors leaked. It was only 1 maybe 2 of them. I did get them to work for a weekend before they started leaking agaoin.

Have you tried swapping injectors with one that seals to see if the leak moves with the injector? If it does move I'd say get a different injector, if it doesn't I'd say you have a problem with the lower intake (unless it's leaking at the rail). That's just my thoughts anyway.

I leaked at the rail. All 4 times that I tried it they leaked from the same place on the same fuel rail, I doubt that any of the injectors were in the same place twice so it may be the rail that is causing the leaking. The 3.1 injectors I have never leaked so I don't know what the problem is. I'm just giving up on them.

Sounds like it's not the injectors then and more like the fuel rail. I'd do what you're doing and just give up on it too rathar than buying another rail hoping it doesn't have the same problem.
So I went to the junkyard today and pulled the injectors off of a '90 bronco 2.9L and a '89 ranger 2.9 and noticed that none of them say F1ZE on them... however they all look identical to the ones pictured earlier. There were 3 different numbers I found on them, 1 says FOSE-B5A, 5 say E7DE-B1B, and 6 say E67E-B1B. Will these still work or do I need to keep looking?

I'm going to try the re-manned ones. I don't know much about cars though and I'm a little worried. So I'm going to write down what I'm going to do b4 I screw it up.
1st - No idea how to take off the TV and throttle cables from my TB.
2nd - I'll need a new TB gasket, exhaust return gasket, upper plenum gasket. I'll need some di-electric grease for the injector o-rings. I'll need some RTV for the new gaskets.
3rd - replace one injector at a time by unplugging it, removing the clip at the base of the injector (somehow) - I should put the stock GM o-ring on the ford injector. coat it in di-electric, plug it in and re-use the GM clip to secure it.Put some di-electric on the electrical connection and then plug it back in.
Re: Ditch your stock injectors! - Part Numbers and Questions.
You don't have to seperate the TB from the manifold. The cables come off pretty easy, they are just held on by a simple clip. You don't need any RTV either. The injectors are held in by clips that slide around the injector, use a small screwdriver to move them. To get the injector out your going to have to pull pretty hard so don't be afraid to use some force, use new o-rings too. Other than that sounds like you have everything.

The throttle cables are easy..two are held on by clips and the other just unhooks..remove one bolt that holds the cable assembly to the upper plenum and start removing the upper plenum.(ac brackets/bolts/rubber lines at the back).once all that is off sometimes you can reuse the gasket ..but if yours is torn ..make sure when you go to the auto store you bring one along cause I kept getting the ones for a 3100 FWD engine and they are completely different.Once you get the upper plenum off.. the fuel rail is held by two bolts on top of it..and dont forget to release the fuel pressure by the valve at the end of the rail.put a rag around it while depressing the valve. Then you can crack the fuel return/supply lines ..disconnect the injector harness and CTS(coolant temp sensor plug) plug and carefully pry up the rail kinda wiggling it ..I sometimes have to use a screwdriver or small prybar..dont use a lot of force and then you can put the whole rail w/injectors on the kitchen table and play with it??..You can use a dab of oil when around the o-rings when you put it back together..once you do it..the following times you wont be scared.
