Hey guys,
I just had the condenser replaced in the car, and R-12 put in,
Blows nice and cold.
The vents seem a little lacking in air flow,
I was wondering if they make a high speed blower motor
or If theres a Cabin Air filter, or what.
I want more air comming out of my vents!
Also, my vents are limp, they dont stay where I put them,
Whats my best bet on fixing those?

Not really much you can do about the amount of air coming out. It's a limitation of the blower motor itself. I havn't seen anyone mod something up to make it faster or put in a different one.
As for the vents that move around...head down to your local home and garden center and pick up some self sticky 1/4" wide, 1/4" thick insulation, the kind you put around window A/C units. Remove the vents carefully with a pocket screwdriver and put a small strip of the onsulation on both sides of the vent.
The foam acts as a friction material and keeps them in place while you drive.

As for your airflow problem, your car IS 20 years old now. All of the cruddy foam insulation between the plastic ducts is probably degrading and letting air out from the joints. Also, your wiring is also 20 years old. You might be better off running some new wiring to the motor and the high-speed relay, but only after you have exhausted all other options.
After I replaced the blower motor, I was surprised at how much harder the air blew--I shouldn't have been amazed, I guess, hey the motor was 20+ years old.

r414b "hot shot" it's a little colder, unless there's another one you're talking about...
To my knowledge, they don't make R-12 anymore b/c it was supposedly "bad for the environment" so that's why they came out with the R-134A. I know of other types of refrigerant, but to my knowledge, they discontinued the R-12 and they make adapters for the new stuff R-134A to connect to the old fittings under the hood. But I could be wrong.....
R12 is still available. I'm taking the car in for a charge Monday. I doubt you'll find anything that will blow colder in our systems. I had no luck with 134.

I am recharging my air conditioner as well. I have been reading up on this and I have one question: if I go with R-134a instead of the R-12, then do I need to do some oil change or can i just vacuum out the system and just refill with the R-134a?? If I need to change the oil, how do I do this?
If you go to R-134a the only way to make it blow cold is to completely vacuum and drain the system. Replace the accumulator/Dryer. and recharge with the new oil, refrigerant and parts.
If you can find R-12 at a resonable price.. use it.
DONT USE ANYTHING ELSE... freeze12 or any of the other "stuff" has additives that are harmful to technicians tools... if you put it in your car then take it to a shop they will not work on your car. Also never use anything that has sealer in it...

I get what the refrigerant is, but what oil???????? Do you mean the accumulator/dryer when you say parts??
