Mustangs are far from fast when you compare them to an LSx powered car. lol my 00 t/a has taken out mach 1's, **** tons of GT's (those were just a waste of my gas), and i dont know whats under the hood in a stage 1 roushe but i beat one of them too. I raced an rsx type s with gt2 turbo (i think thats what he said it was) and some other bolt ons and we were neck and neck till about 70 then i started pulling on him like crazy up to 150. by the time i hit 150 i had about 20 car lengths on him. I'm gonna kill my self in that thing some day. lol

Reason: .
around here the LSx cars are predators. almost nothing local can beat them, and if it can its considered pretty much top of the food chain. but the LSx guys don't keep their cars stock either. man i want to get one.
So this guy in an early 90s Toyota Camry DX 4-door tried to race me on an on-ramp to the freeway. He was attempting to impress his girlfriend. Boy was he disappointed. It was one of those typical cars teens have, with those aftermarket wheels and exhaust tip.
His RSX came with the base 4 cyl, but I know he bought and installed a sweet turbo for it. Has a super loud BOV too, the thing is a beauty. He's going for the Type-S upgrade I think (Type-S came with turbo stock I believe) and had everything down except badging and suspension when we raced.
Another thing for my car, I can spin the rear wheels when I'm doing a 5-10mph roll straight line as well, new tires as of late December on dry asphalt. I have no idea if this is the norm or what, figured I'd just post it anyway.
no, the Type S came with the K20A2 2.0L. rated at 210bhp stock. there wasn't ever a stock turbo RSX. the base RSX came with the K20A3 iirc (170bhp). a stock RSX should walk all over your car, a boosted one should put bus lengths on you unless you were racing in a sunami, i don't believe that.
and chirping 3rd isn't hard with a 5-speed. i've had it happen twice with my car, and mine's an auto (i'm pretty sure my tranny is screwed over though)
I will agree about the supercharged RSX is insanely fast. I worked at a acura dealership and use to have fun driving those things to fill the tank and a 1-3 burn out with just popping the clutch is so easy. The fist R32 VW could burn all four tires with traction control off let alone the german turbo model putting 600+ to the wheels. But my 3.4 700r4 bird has some go since I ported the top end and got a exhaust for it but I have a ported M90 just sitting around I have been thinking of putting in there.
But I had a V6 Fiero and I took that thing to 140 and it was scary as hell but worth the look of honda driver that was racing me as I passed him and kept going. 86 V6 auto Fiero stock topped at like 135 but I modified the front aero nose and hood to reduce preasure and lowered it but I hate that car with a passion.
Dont the 305's make 165 hp on super while the v6's make 135 on regular? I wouldent buy the v8 for 30 hp... The whole reason I bought the v6 though was because I have heared from other people they are way more reliable and better built than the v8s.
To be corrected.....it's the torque that makes the car faster.....a 305 TBI makes 170 hp, but a lot more torque than the v6....the 305 TPI makes 235hp and 295 ft.lbs...and the 350 TPI makes 245hp and 345 ft.lbs of torque. V6 runs somewhere maybe in the high 16's at the track if your lucky, probably 17's though in 1/4mile...305 maybe low 16's or into low 15's depending on Tuned port or not....350 will run low to mid 14's all day long, and there's more potential with a v8 (mine goes 12's)....but I just wanted the say for your v6 guys that the new camaros...the ones not even out yet (2009/2010 model) has a very very powerful new v6 that puts out 300hp....that's like having an LS1 in your car!! Which is awesome for a v6!! also my friend has a grand national turbo motor in his camaro, and it's really really fast!!!! Also another buddy of mine swaped a 97 v6 with a supercharger in his camaro.....and it's also pretty quick.
I love the LSx engines. Got to drive the 06 GTO 6.0. Oh the feel of those horses! I haven't driven many vehicles over 250 horsepower, so to stomp on the gas with 400 was impressive to me, especially with that 6-speed transmission.
I actually didn't like the shifter in the GTO if felt weird and almost didn't feel like a secure shift. I worked at a Pontiac dealership and I have driven my share of GTO's but I honestly like the turbo soltice for its feel on the road, I know the GTO is faster but the soltice feels faster and more solid.
But the new 60v6 is AWESOME just look up the aero X from saab and it is running a 2.8 DOHC v6 with twin scroll turbo's running E85 ethanol and just a tune and it has 400hp. The engine is pretty much the stock saab unit already in production.
