Just got some used headers

So I just bought some used, coated pacesetters on ebay for a silly low price of $61 + 50 shipping.

I want to get these on the car soon, but dont have an exhaust system picked out.

Will the headers make a difference without getting exhaust at the same time?

What are the differences between having a dynomax super turbo exhaust, and have the exhaust shop just fab something new up?

Re: Just got some used headers

Wow, great deal man.

The headers will make a difference even with just the stock exhaust. The stock exhaust really flows OK for the V6. Only at really high rpm's will the 2.8 need anything bigger than the 2.25 pipe.

The Dynomax is a good upgrade, It'll make it sound better more than anything. It probably will be the same in terms or preformance as something you'd get at an exhaust shop, but if I did go and just get something put on I'd make sure they put a good muffler on their. A good muffler plus the headers will make that V6 sound pretty mean.

That's an amazing deal. I've been trying to find some for cheap, but I can't and might just end up buying them new.

You'll hear and feel a difference with the headers, and you might need a new O2 sensor that's heated (some of the other members have had problems with the sensor).

Re: Just got some used headers

Nice job on the price. I had a problem with the bottom pipe under the engine being too long and had to shorten it. Also had to put a slight dent in one of the headers to clear the oil filter.

If I ever wear out my I-pipe, I may just go back to the 2.25 pipe and muffler (I'll keep the high-flow cat though). For now I'm about to get a turbo muffler as I hear they're quieter.

I've got a 2.5 sysytem with a dynomax muffler and it's annoyingly loud. Sounds nice at idle or just cruising around, but when I accelerate it's '*****-annoying' loud.
