Its okay, but I'm sure there is better for the money. Borla maybe. Honestly if I were to do it again, I'd replace everything; headers to tips. That would sound best and give a performance gain.

....flowmasters have one of the worst flow rates of any muffler...plus if your using a cross-flow (single in dual outlet) it's even worse....only thing that flowed worse was believe it or not....glass packs. Hooker aero chamber flowed great but best was hooker max flow...flowed the same as a straight pipe.(test using 2 1/2inch pipe)..believe that or not too....I'll try to find the printout of the flow numbers for mufflers i have and post them for you. I use a aerochamber and love it...
Here is the flow numbers if I didn't already post them like I said I would...
This is a chart of popular performance and a few stock type mufflers I have tested on our flow bench. These were all the most popular mufflers sold and installed at a local exhaust shop. Straight pipes have been tested and are used to compare these mufflers to "potential" flow of a muffler. When running a performance muffler on the street there are many more things to consider then just good flow. For instance pleasant tone and enough sound reduction to avoid any "unwanted" attention from local authorities. One thing to keep in mind is how restrictive tailpipes are. You can have a great flowing muffler but if your tailpipes are restrictive you may not be getting any gain from loud, high flow, and not to mention sometimes "expensive" mufflers.

Took a couple of tries and some frustration with CarDomain, but here it is. I don't know how good the microphone in my digital cam is, so I can't tell you if the sound is good or not. There is a short break where I was checking my freshly installed 84 Bird tail lights before the final 4K rev. http://video.cardomain.com/Clip.aspx...BFB3043FA7C8C2
Also, keep in mind that any engine will sound different under load than it does at idle, even if you rev it to the rev limiter (which I have hit a few times ).

Eh, I'm sure it's not the best on here, but at least it's not that 80 series, and it's definitely NOT a fart can. Although, a buddy of mine had a Dodge that sounded the same with a fart can as it did with a Thrush with a twin tip.
Ok i'm going to tell you all a story here that is exhaust relatted . I once owned a '69 Chevy Sport Van 108 Custom I got from my Grandfather . It had a 327 from a '63 Corvette ,circle track race heads , and a late model trans all with the vans 2 barrell carb . It had true duels with glasspacks and 2 inch pipes . I got the exhaust real hot and sprayed water in the exhaust while it was still running and when I shut it off I let it sit a minute and fired it up and floored it . When all was said and done I busted the glass in the glasspacks and you could walk behind the van around 15-20 feet and could not hear it run but when you got on it any it was LOUD . I have thought about doing something like that on my car but may not .

Thats an old trick but also thats only going to sound good on a V8 which I may poney up the money and get one once this motor dies.
My little brother had a '87 Bronco with duels and glasspacks on his straight six and it sounded like a tractor without busting the glasspacks I would have liked to hear it if he would have bustted them . It may have sounded better .
entrig00 that car sounds ok with the glasspack on it . I would like to get a clip of my exhaust . It is a glasspack instead of a cat and a flow 3in in and duel 2.5in out with 4in tips .

Thanks I got it with the glasspack already on and factory duel muffler . I took the factory muffler off and put it on my womans 84 2.8 Bird and my buddy had this Flow for 60 bucks and put it on for me then I got the tips and put them on . If I wasn't runninr a little rich and didn't have the glasspack in there it would probably sound better .

I think It is a 80 series 3in in duel 2.5in out and 4in tips with a glasspack in place of the cat . The inlet side has been adapted down to stock 2 1/4in .

When you say glass-pack in place of the cat, You mean sticking a GP like a Cherry bomb where the cat is, then run a normal muffler? I have a blowmaster 80series already, I'm liking the sound that 89-bird has. Pretty much exactly what I am looking for.
I agree with a lot of you guys about how the flowmaster/blowmaster sounds good....I'm thinking of getting a flowmaster 80 series just cause it sounds good but would I sacrifice my flow just because I want a blowmaster?
flakeh , yes it has a GP in place of a cat and 4in tips on the Flowmaster . entrig00 if you want it to sound like mine all you need if you don't have to do emissions is put a glasspack in place of your cat and run a Flowmaster with duel 2.5in exits and 4in tips .

I know the cat was replaced, and a shitty weld at that. It leaks from there and makes a rattling noise. But other than that, it is pretty loud with the stock exhaust. Louder than my dad's 99 GP with 3" exhaust.

That sounds very good. I remember thats how my 1st RS sounded stock. And I liked it. This camaro I have now came with a 40 series that I pulled out of it...damn fart canon lol.
So after doing some research it seems as if Magnaflow is the best when it comes to pricing and flow.
80 series Flowmaster sounds good as a matter of fact very good, but the flow is the worst if your looking for something good when it comes to performance.
Magnaflow is very cheap and sounds just as good....most important people...
much better flow....
Thank you all for your time, clips, info ect....
You all are more then welcome to post a reply or keep adding. I'll be checking on this thread every so often...for the mean time my wife is going to be having a baby very soon and I gotta keep on a look out and prep for my daughter that will be joining our family very soon...
Your welcome and congrats on the new baby . The flowmaster I have may not have been my first choice but I got it for $60 installed and I don't have a cat so my exhaust flows a little more anyways . But it sounds great .

Thx bird...I might just do what you did....I like the way yours sounds...
Thanks I do too I don't know how many times I've drove my car and people say "That sounds good what you running under the hood ." and they can't believe it when I say it is just a 2.8 .

I got a little bored today and I decided to go for a ride. :P weird I compared the clips the new one seems different. Do mufflers break in?. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTAcbX2ebpY
Thanks entrig00 if want to sound like me get the stuff like I am running but if you have emissions checking I would use a highflow cat instead of a GP .
