got a intermittant hesitation at part throttle and was thinking the MAf may be the culprit. wanted to swap a known good MAF onto the car to verify/disprove this, but the MAF is from a 88' 350 GTA. are the V6 and V8 MAFs the same or will this not work?

- 100% bone stock... 14.54 at 94.44mph
97' Saturn SC2 (1.9L 4cyl DOHC/5speed)
- also 100% bone stock, but much slower than the Regal!
98' Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (LS1/4L60E/3.23s)
- hard to believe, but its actually 100% bone stock also!

i have gotten a check engine light, but havent scanned the code yet. the light only came on when i was backing up into a parking spot, so its more than likely low IAC counts or something

They're not anywhere close. The v6 maf is a frequency film (digital) maf and the v8 maf is a hotwire (analog) maf that requires a whole wiring change to add in the extra realys to run it.

3.4 block converted to roller valvetrain with 220/225 cam on 115 lsa, early '769' heads with 3500 valves, LS6 springs & mild porting, worked over heddman headers, 3500 plenum with ported 3400 lower & 'short star' 65mm throttle. 210hp at 5800ft (that's 270hp at sealevel )

Not to mention swapping to an ECU that will support MAF readings in changes in voltage rather than changes in signal frequency. The burn-off relay is the least of the problems.
If someone were feeling particularly stubborn, though, one could probably program a small pic microcontroller to perform the translation. I'd love to see that one done.
