help with timing/ firing order for 3.1 v6

Hey i need help my mechanic doesnt know the firing order for the a 91 3.1 rs and is there anything specific how to set the timing? like maybe the ecm has to be disconnected or something like that.

Re: help with timing/ firing order for 3.1 v6

First, I'd say you need a new mechanic, as he obviously doesn't know how to do his job (by looking something so simple up in a book or computer).
Second, the base timing setting is set with the connector that is hanging out of the wire harness above the blower fan (tan/black wire) disconnected, and is set to 10* BTDC.
Third, the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6, with #1 being pass side front cylinder, unless you're overseas, where it's the driver's side front cylinder. Either way, the #1 cylinder is still the one closest to the front of the engine.
