i own a haynes manual and in it, it states that my coil needs to be tested for primary resistance, secondary, and coil windings for short to ground..
i own a street fire coil
it tests good for primary and secondary but fails for coil windings
i thought it was bad so i went to 3 different parts stores and checked there brand new coils and all have shown bad for short to ground.. and primary and secondary are good
so my questions are. is my coil bad as well as the other 3? and why when i checked other chevy haynes manuals i havent yet found another coil check that tells you to check the windings? what is going on?? please help.

Hmmmm...make sure your rotor is on right. If that doesnt spin or make an electrial connection with the cap your not going to have any spark. Also just double check your wires. I know there new but maybe there not pushed on all the way or something similar. Also make sure you have a good connection between your coil and dis cap.
I did this same test on my coil and I had one ordered in and it tested bad but it has worked great. Every coil that I have tested passed the other 2 but failed this test. I think if you just put one on you'll be fine.
I GOT IT well a mobile electrician came and got it
for those who would like to know...
alright i dont know the correct names of a few things so ill just describe..
when the car broke down a few months ago a went looking for the problem.. well while looking i took off the coil and ignition control module and tested the wire that easily comes off that connects from the coil directly to the ignition control module and tested it.. well all i did was make it worse i pressed in the female pins in the wire and they were too lose. ha ha. this sucks. but she runs again..
