89 firebird wont start - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I have an 89 firebird with a 2.8L V6 engine. I am not getting spark to my spark plugs. I have checked the ignition coil and it is firing. I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor and the ignition control module. I checked the pickup coil on the distributor with a multimeter and it is good (840 ohms). I pulled the distributor cap off and verified the distributor is turning. Does anybody have any ideas on what i may be missing.

check the rotor?

I replaced the rotor button and with the cap off had wife turn the key to verify the rotor was turning

found the problem unplugged ecm plugged it back in replaced rotor button distributor a second time and it fired up. dont know if reseating the connectors on the ecm fixed it or if i bought a bad rotor button the first time.
