So I figured I'd start a thread since I'm in the process of fixing up my Camaro. I bought this car in excellent shape 4 years ago with 161,xxx on it as my first car. I crashed it 2 years ago right before I graduated high school. Now I'm fixing it up so I can keep it. The motor n trans have 191,xxx on them now and she's still running strong. Enjoy.
Here's the engine a year after I crashed it nothing new on it besides the remaned alt and a water pump. Pics of the new stuff will be up next week
Heres the new to me body parts hood louvers and grill. Some jerk off stole my center caps in broad daylight while I was down at school one day. Thanks goes to 88GTA5spd he let me strip an 86 IROC roller that was going to scrap for 300 bucks I got all the parts I needed plus some. I have 2 doors and some other stuff off that car I'd like to sell.
So right now the car is at the shop getting painted. I decided to go with Rallye Green code 79 an old 69 Camaro color. Here's a pic of the color. I'm keeping my hood louvers, door handles, T-top strips, grill, and headlight area black.

Nice color choice should look nice once its painted. thats pretty crazy someone stealing your center caps in the middle of the day. looks to see your putting it back together nicely and thats amazing how strong the car is running 191,000 miles. Snap some pics when its out of paint.
Here's some engine shots. Just some tune up stuff in there heli core wires, street fire ignition coil, MSD Cap n rotor, I replaced the old leaky coolant tank, a new power master alt, and an idler pulley, as well as all the lift supports so now my hatch n hood both stay open no more props.
So I've been toying with the idea of spraying this car. I figure for about 650.00 I can order a universal wet kit, a purge kit, and a lean killswitch from dynotune. Here's a link to the kit. http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=100
I'd like to do some exhaust work and have the seals replaced on my tranny and have it all checked out and maybe install a shift kit before i spray it. Looking to put the kit on possibly next summer. It'd be great if I could get some feedback from people who have sprayed these engines.
So I picked this up today for 300 bucks.... 5.7L 350 TPI complete with wiring, fuel lines, gas tank, comp, MAF, the intake
Gotta tear it apart and see what's inside, but I'm thinking I'm going to go with a carb setup and sell the TPI setup. I'm keeping the v6 in the rallye green car and a friend wants to sell me his 305 IROC for 900 so I think this 350 is going in that once it's finished. His IROC is a hardtop so it makes more sense plus it's a much easier swap. Forget putting nitrous on the 6 too it's going to be too expensive and I'm feeling pretty content with all that I have now.
wow blast from the past! I just stumbled on my old thread here searching for dynotune nitrous. Well the car is sitting in the garage never built that 350 up and never messed with the NO2... College really tightens your pockets... I don't know if it's cabin fever or maybe just because I fired her up a week ago but I looking into interior mods and back to the nos again haha.
