So i bought a 91 camaro. It has been sitting for 3 years. I got it home put a battery in it and it fired up! I drove it about 4 miles turned around, started going back home and it started missing really bad as i pulled in the driveway it died. So i decided to give it a tune up. I drained the gas tank changed the filter, air filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the o2 sensor. since then it sometimes wont start, sometimes starts runs poorly then dies, and it sometimes starts runs good starts idling rough then dies. I have changed the pickup coil, map sensor, ignition control module, coil, computer, it has 40 psi of fuel pressure, ive triple checked the timing, the tps works fine, Ive pulled the plugs out and they are fouled because it is running so rich. I am out of ideas. does any body have any suggestions?
You have no lights on the dash right? Even if you dont go ahead and do the jumper wire to see if anything shows up...if nothing comes up we will go from there

I would double/triple/quadruple check those fuel injectors. That was my problem. I went to a diagnostic place and they couldn't figure it out. I went to a different place and they said clogged fuel injectors, had them cleaned...went to another play, said 2 bad fuel injectors, swapped them all out and have not had the same problem again. Just an idea.
Almost anything can fail intermittently. That's the problem with troubleshooting and electronics. The thing to keep common is if the car is stumbling...something is failing...then you know to check certain things. You can single it out eventually. Also, and I know this really as i've notice...most people post their problems but they are no solution...my first two problems ended up being the ignition controle module(you've replaced) and 2 bad fuel injectors(solved my problem). Not saying those are your problem, but do a search and read past problems in the V6 section as this had been discussed multiple times.

Thank you everybody for the suggestions. Charcoalbird, i've seen control modules be bad off the shelf and i tested the one that was originally on the car and the one i replaced it with and they both were good. I have hptuners for my 98 t/a and it is awesome. I am looking at software for this car because i dont know how else to diagnose it, and i dont want to keep throwing money at it.
Fuel injectros are common problem with the 3.1. I was also having the same problem you are. Found one bad injector. You can get a set of six injectors at autoparts warehouse.com for about $205.00 plus core charge. I was skepticle of them because of the cheap price but they have been in the car for about 8 months and it runs fine.
