No o2 sensor = more power???

Today some A hole ran me off the road and while coming back onto the road my exhaust hit the groud and also my o2 sensor wire got ripped apart. When the exhaust (y pipe) hit it caused a really big exhaust leak where the passenger header bolts to the head. Also the o2 sensor i had was from a 3.8 v6 firebird. It is a 4 wire heated o2 that i wired up. So how come it feels like i have so much more power?

"really big exhaust leak" kinda acts as an open cutout. Odds are you do have more power.

Re: No o2 sensor = more power???

lol...yup you got yourself a permanent cutout...prolly sounds bad @$$ at idle dont it?...as for having more power if your cat was clogged/old or you have stock exhaust you will REALLY notice a difference between the two...

...i have an 89 caprice with the 305 in it....long story short my exhaust came off right before the cat....WOW it was alot faster and sounded so much better....now that i fixed it its back to a slow quiet granny car lol

to get more power easy on these things you just open up each end.
An engine is just an air pump.

Re: No o2 sensor = more power???

Well I have the pacesetter headers and 98 formula catback, but there is still a piece of the stock exhaust right before the cat

Re: No o2 sensor = more power???

that makes no difference, and O2 is an O2 cept for how many wires it has n may wire up.

not gonna add performace or take away.

save loot next time and get a univerals 2-3-4 wire as needed.
about $20 cheaper.
