Short Block replacement 3.1

Can anyone tell me where to find another 3.1 Block with all the inards in it allready? I don't want to reuse my crank, cam, pistons, all that jazz. My block has a crack in it and its a huge crack, anyway i need to replace. I would go with like a 305 or a 350, but i don't want to do all the work. any pointers for a new block??? 1990 3.1

Re: Short Block replacement 3.1

Well you can either try and find and old block that looks good and have it checked over then buy a kit from these guys....

http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/gm28stroker.html

I know they arent the cheapest kits around but there also arent any other quality kits around that i know of either

Best bet is to find someone that is selling there 3.1 cause they are doing a swap. Obviously only if they have a good motor but you get what im saying.

Forgot to add...they sell blocks there for 375 and they will put in new freeze plugs, match it to your pistons of choice, and new cam bearings

Re: Short Block replacement 3.1

I got a complete 3.1 from hawks for 450 IIRC. it had all acc and harnes included.I'm going to be installing it in the next few weeks. but you might as well swap in a 3.4L and get the better block it comes with.
