Come on People HELP a fellow CAMARO Owner OUT I need some help please
Hi, i have a 1992 Camaro Rs V6 3.1
i just changed the Fuel injectors to it last week.
Now This Week i was driving home one night and it staled out on me out of no-ware, like a block away from my house, so i tried to turn it back on it cranked but it did not start it felt like it was not getting any fuel or something, anyway i waited like :30 Minutes talking to a friend to help me push it, so when i got in the car i tried to crank it one more time and it started.
A second Time this week the same thing happened to me so this time when i tried to crank it back on, i stood silent to hear if the fuel pump in the back goes on when i turn the ignition on and it does make the noise that it should, but the car still did not turn on it cranked normal but did not turn on.
I waited like 15min and it stared normal.
Some people say it can be the fuel pump it over heats or the fuel pusher i am not sure what it can be i need a good opinion because to take that gas tank out its a lil bit of work i will do it but i rather narrow down the problem First
O Wait i remember also that
about 3or4 weeks Ago i did hear in the back like the pump was stuck like a honing sound but i thougt it was because the tank was empty so i put a full tank after that i had no problem. In till Now

I see this same complaint time and time again on this site..... I see all kinds of ideas on what the problem is.... For my 91'bird > same issues > fuel pump relay(20bucks)> Definite possibility! Good luck.....
Re: Come on People HELP a fellow CAMARO Owner OUT I need some help please
if you hear the pump run, but the car does not even try to fire up, then it's probably not a pump issue. More than likely, you have an ignition module going bad. When they heat up, the car will simply die on you, so sputtering of any kind like low fuel pressure, it'll just stop running until it cools off, then work again for a few minutes. One way to check this is to take a look at your tach while you crank it. Assuming that the tach works, you should see the needle jump around a little as you crank the engine. if it doesn't, then you have a problem with the module grounding the coil. Make sure that if you replace it you install the dielectri grease under it. If you don't you'll just waste another module.

Re: Come on People HELP a fellow CAMARO Owner OUT I need some help please
HI, i just went to my car i revved it up to warm it up and after like half an hour it went dead, so now when i tried to start the car, i looked at the tachometer needle it was at dead position and when i would turn the key and the engine was cranking it would go up to the zero RPM position and stay there as long as i was holding the ignition key in the cranking position once i would let got it would go back to dead position the needle.
I also heard the pump in the back go on almost every time i turned the ignition key before cranking position.
But while i was cranking the needle was not bouncing or anything it stood still at zero RPM til i let go of the key then back to dead position it went.
my Tachometer work fine to the best of my knowledge it was working fine before the car went dead.
Re: Come on People HELP a fellow CAMARO Owner OUT I need some help please
That's another symptom of a bad module. The pickup coil sends the RPM signal to the gauge cluster through the module and the ignition coil. Another symptom is a bouncing tach at speed (module won't have long to live at this point).
