Above 12 ohms (each injector) is OK. Best to check them while hot.

Re: 1991 RS 3.1 Injector Help

if you need new injectors I bought an entire set at autopartswarehouse.com for $205 plus core charge. They look like original injectors and I have had no problems with them.

Re: 1991 RS 3.1 Injector Help

I just had an injector go bad. Here are the circumstances. Car 90' 3.1 liter Firebird with 19K original miles on it...Grandma car. Took it to work today after it has been sitting for years. Gave it full throttle got to 5K rpms going up hill and the car died in its tracks. Pulled over and it started back up...continued on my commute (45 mile) about 20 miles later I go to pass another car...and same thing at high rpms. This time the car will not start. Sat there a while after calling AAA...kept cranking and it fired up. Didn't have time to take it home to my shop but I don't have any OBD I equip anyway....just OBD II, so I took it to a shop next to my work.

Shop calls 2 hours later ($80) and they tell me the #1 injector is bad. That when it is connected it shorts out the computer. With it unplugged the motor starts and runs on 5 cylinders. I tried it myself and it is true..with the injector plugged in the car won't start..with it unplugged it runs.

I am thinking I should probalby replace all 6 to play it safe...now where to buy? Are these injectors the same as the 3.8 liter?
