ok so it seems like ever time it rains heavy my car starts hesitating jerking and what not is this an ignition problem i thought the distributor got wet on the inside or something i dnt knw wat it could be help me out v6ers
There is a gasket between the cap and the distributor body that could be bad. It could also be a wire shorting out. I had a similar issue and it was the plug wire on the second cylinder back on the passenger side. The boot was being eaten by the heat from the EGR pipe. I would check both of these then move onto other electrical components that see a lot of water.
i didnt even knw there was a gasket there hmm thx 'll look n to that
There isn't. At least there is no gasket on the 3 HEI dizzy's I've seen and the 3 caps I have.
Check your wires. These wires have enough problems on their own without being wet. There is a reason why one of the steps to troubleshooting a misfire is to spray the ignition wires with a spray bottle.

Guess it depends on the manufacturer? I don't know about that, but another thing to check is that there are 2 vents in the bottom of the dizzy. Maybe one has a big hole in it?
The cap and rotor are only like 30 bucks to replace, not sure on the gasket. It might come with the cap or you may have to get it separate. As far as the coil goes I would check it, this can be done with either a volt meter or your local parts store should be able to test it.
