I would turn the flange 90 degrees so that the intake wheel of the turbo is facing toward the front of the car, and not the throttle body. Are you setting up the rear of the manifold for a crossover underneath the engine? Sweet....

yes crossover will be under engine, cant turn the flange 90* turbine outlet would be right into the alt., not to mention no room for an airfilter or the maf sensor on maf cars
but the turbo inlet can be positioned to the driverside for the downpipe to be run out the passenger side like my car, or face the inlet to the passenger side and run the downpipe out the driverside
passenger side will allow a 2.75 inch downpipe or a 3.5 inchdownpipe if u use oval tubing, ds will fit a max of 3.5 inch round downpipe
im goig to edit my above post since i uploaded the wrong animation
best part is these will be under 230 bucks out the door, slightly more if u want an egr hookup

If you lengthen the primaries, and set the flange back some, it would sit way behind the alternator, similar to the way the BBS one for the V8's does. But then this requires total removal of the AC, as well as a delete box. Meh, will keep it out there as a suggestion....

moving it out to the side would remove downpipe clearance, the whole idea behind this header is to retian the ac

I see what your saying now. What threw me off was the distance of the flange in relation with the number one exhaust primary, it looks like the turbo will be sitting right on top of the alternator in the rendition. What your saying then, is that the header will pass the alternator, and the turbo will sit in front of it? Kind of like the one you already have, but with a crossover under the engine instead of out in front....?

the drawing isnt actually to scale it was just to show how it would look
i dont have any pics right now my digi cam broke, but im ging to try with a webcam and see if i can get some decent pics. right now this is based of my current passenger side foward facing header so this picture of that will give u a good idea of how it fits.
though i moved the turbo location slightly to better clearnce for an inlet pipe/air filter , and also for clearance for larger turbos, my original design a 60-1 housing would slightly touch the tensioner pulley depending on how u clocked the cold side, but now this new design should fit any turbo upto the gt42
heres some pics of the other design which should give u a good idea of how this looks and fits
yes i designed this around using the stock driver side manifold to keep costs down and to simply the install for somone wanting to retian ac and dosent want a full out race setup, or if osmone had a set of pacesetter headers they could still use the driverside header

Very nice. Thanks for the pics, that explains a little better how it all runs. Does that downpipe really fit with a A/C box in there? I guess it may just under underneath it?
One more question, why not build a cross over pipe for it? If you intend to use the drivers side manifold it doesn't really have many options on how to run it....

the downpipe will fit no problem with an ac box in there, it just has to be about 1-2 inches shorter before it makes the turn down, atleats on my car.
on anyone elses car they could angle the downpipe downward more when it comes out of the turbo.
i did mine the way u see cause i dont run ac and was going to remove my heater core, but i decided that i should prolly leave the heat for defrost .so ill be installing a non ac box in mine
i could build the crossover as well, but i figured i could leave that upto the end user and it keeps cost down , any muffler shop should be able to build one for 50 bucks or less, but ill have to price up materials and see what i could include one for

Yeah, the problem with muffler shops is that A) you need to tow your car there and B) if you don't have a cat on the car (for whatever reason) they won't touch it. If they can do it for 50 bucks then why couldn't it be in the kit for 75? Honestly $305 for the "hot side" of the system to me is a whole lot better then 235 for just the header

and C) Alot of them won't touch custom exhaust anymore, its not worth the time or complaints, im a service writer at a midas around mt. pleasant, and i have done one, and eventually had to tell the guy to go buy a kit online, because it wasn't worth the hassell on either end for us to do it for him, and there is no warranty on labor for a custom exhaust, even if something gets broken
