The K member (or really just the crossover brace between the subframe rails in this car) is moved far forward to clear a BBC oil pan. It would probably have just as much if not more room around the engine and headers than my Camaro.


So far i've found a bunch of small wiring issues with the car, been cleaning those up and trying to make sure it's going to be as reliable as possible.

Ran the numbers on the engine, it's a '69 4 bolt main truck 350. Has '882 heads though... those will have to go soon...

I had plans to save the engine for another project down the road that's much more fitting. If i can raise the money i need any other way i will.. engine will be the last thing to go.

Mid 13's on street tires with both the old Powerglide and the TH350. It looks like he was shifting at about 5500 which is about right for this cam and heads combo. Needs a set of Vortecs bad though.


I've been working on the carb all evening, need to get my wideband moved over so i can dial this thing in better though. Runs good enough to cruse around town in, doesn't over heat but the trans is brutal when it shifts. The kids think it's fun though.

not bad for a set of smogger heads for the total cost of vortecs id just go aftermarket for an extra 200 or so , unless u can get a set thats already been machined and all that

i was going to swap some vortecs onto my tt iroc but the damn vortec tpi base is 550 bucks

that leaves me the option of a vortec stealth ram for about 400 bucks , but by the time i spent the money to have the vortecs machined and rebuilt i could buy a set of aluminum 195/210cc heads and be done with it

though i doubt ill do anything with the 355 i have a partially complete afr headed 427 sitting on the engine stand just itching to replace the 355 when it goes , im just keeping the 355 to see how far i can push it like marty did in his traansam

low 9's and 200 mph on the salt flats is the goal

Well, the car is now a shell. Only took about 2.5 hours to get the engine/trans out.


After looking through old pictures of the odometer it's sad to say that i was only able to rack up 907 miles since buying the car in 2009. It's a 60 mile round trip to the track so most of those miles are there.


The roller is headed to Craigslist, Converter is sold pending funds. I still have the trans if someone close needs one. The engine and headers will be the last to go.


I do have some other parts like a 145MPH cluster, Z28 HUmount, extra 10 bolt housing, stock LCA's, Stock torque arm, pair of 26 spline axles and a full set of single stripe IROC rims that i need to clear out.

If anyone wants anything just let me know.
